Winter Ski paddling Training!
This is additional training to what has previously been part of the club fee structure. Therefore with it being in its initial year and a trial, a contribution is required to allow the winter ski training to go ahead! This fee will go towards the transport of the skis to the winter paddling locations and the maintenance of skis, trailer and 4x4 (Summer training will remain part of club fees and no additional payment will be required)
Winter ski paddling will be offered at flat water locations provisionally planned as a Saturday session with the aim of delivering one a month on average and a minimum of 6 over the Winter.
The proposed initial dates are:
November - 30th Saturday
December - 23rd Monday
January - 11th Saturday, 25th Saturday
February - 15th Saturday
March - 14th Saturday
The locations for sessions will vary based on the weather, sea and tidal conditions. We currently have the following provisional locations in mind.
St Austell: Carlyon Bay, Porthpean
Truro/ Carrick Roads: Malpas, Loe Beach
Newquay: Towan, Gannel, Porth
Padstow Area.
The first session will start at 0830. Where required due to numbers/ abilities we will run two sessions with the second starting at 1000. (This will be split my competency/age)
The location of the sessions will be posted on the Event FB Page the week leading to the paddle. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2666323733452404/
It will be the responsibility of the participant to arrange their travel to the location, although club members are encouraged to look for lift shares on the FB page.
